The MMA Institute provides official American Red Cross CPR/AED training taught according to Red Cross curriculum, testing standards, and certification requirements. Students receive hands-on instruction and, after successfully completing the course requirements, an American Red Cross digital certification.
The MMA Institute serves as the training environment—bringing Red Cross lifesaving standards into a practical, instructor-led setting focused on preparedness, confidence, and the ability to act when an emergency occurs.
-
The American Red Cross provides the nationally recognized curriculum and certification. The MMA Institute builds the training experience around it.
Our goal is not simply to have students memorize steps or leave with a certification card. We want students to understand what they are doing, why they are doing it, and be confident enough to act under pressure.
Students receive the same Red Cross certification requirements while training in an environment that emphasizes practical application, hands-on repetition, questions, situational understanding, and real-world preparedness.
-
No. American Red Cross certification standards, required skills, and course curriculum remain Red Cross standards.
The MMA Institute's role is to provide the instructional environment and help students develop confidence and practical understanding while successfully completing those requirements.
-
American Red Cross CPR/AED certifications are generally valid for two years from the date the course is successfully completed.
Students receive a digital certificate that can be accessed, downloaded, printed, or shared with an employer.
What does CPR mean?
CPR stands for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
CPR is an emergency lifesaving technique used when a person's heart has stopped beating normally. Chest compressions help maintain blood flow to the brain and other vital organs until normal circulation can be restored or professional emergency medical care takes over.
-
AED stands for Automated External Defibrillator.
An AED is a portable device designed to analyze a person's heart rhythm during cardiac arrest and, when appropriate, deliver an electrical shock that may help restore an effective heart rhythm.
Red Cross CPR/AED training teaches students how to safely operate an AED as part of responding to a cardiac emergency.
-
The Adult CPR/AED course focuses on recognizing and responding to breathing and cardiac emergencies involving adults.
Students learn skills including recognizing cardiac arrest, performing high-quality CPR, responding to choking and breathing emergencies, and safely using an AED.
This course is intended for individuals who specifically need adult CPR/AED training or workplace certification involving adult emergencies.
-
The Adult & Pediatric CPR/AED course expands CPR/AED training to include adults, children, and infants.
Students learn how CPR and emergency response techniques change depending on the age and size of the person, including CPR for adults, children and infants and appropriate AED use.
This option is especially useful for people who work around children, families, schools, childcare environments, community programs, or workplaces where they may need to respond to an emergency involving someone of any age.
-
Yes. Students who successfully complete the required course and skills assessment receive an American Red Cross digital certification valid for two years.
The certificate includes identifying information that allows students and employers to verify the credential through the American Red Cross.
Red Cross CPR/AED class registration through the MMA Institute is $130 per person, while active MMA Institute Online Members receive a discounted registration rate of $97 per class.
Online Membership is $30 per year, so the CPR discount alone more than covers the cost of membership with your first eligible class. Members also receive access to MMA Institute digital resources, including the Hall of Records, martial arts history and documentary content, training resources, media library, and member access to select Institute events and tournament content as it becomes available.
Online Membership also directly supports the MMA Institute's mission to preserve martial arts history, document fighters and schools, develop educational resources, and build future Institute programs.
All CPR/AED registrations and class confirmations are handled by email only so availability, membership status, and attendance details can be confirmed directly with each participant.
